Week of December 2-6

Thanksgiving Break has rejuvenated us to fulfill the activities during the next three weeks. The students are practicing for the Holiday Program on Tuesday, December 17 at 7:00 pm. They are also caring for the amaryllis bulbs to give to patients at Shelby Ridge Nursing Home. They will sing carols and pass out the plants on Wednesday, December 18.  

  Another tradition is to go bowling on the last day before the Christmas Break. That will be Friday, December 20, 2019. Pizza will be ordered for lunch so we will not be going to the cafeteria. If your child does not eat Domino’s cheese pizza, you may send a lunch from home. We will be wearing pajamas that day. So feel free to send your child in their pajamas if they would like.
School dismisses that day at 1:00 with NO AFTERCARE.

Dear Families,

Hard to believe that December is almost here. We had a great week wrapping up some important lessons as well as spending some time outside. 

This week we started a unit on Pionners in the United States. We have continued our study on invertebrates by learning about nematodes. We also looked at how the earth’s position and rotation in relationship to our sun creates climates and seasons. 

We hope you all enjoy an amazing week off! When we return the students will begin preparing for the holiday performance. Please be sure your child’s practice book is located in their backpacks. 

Lower Elementary Update

The Halloween Parade went well and for the first time in more than 20 years it was held in the gym due to weather. Thank you to the parents who set up the Lower Elementary activities later that afternoon and prepared fun and food for us.

November is here and Alabama weather has jumped from summer to winter. Please check daily forecast so that students are dress accordingly. Also, might be a good time to restock your child's backpack with a winter change of clothes and extra socks. Please, mark you calendars for the following dates and activities.

October 7-11

Last week was such an exciting week! Thank you all for being patient with us about closing school on Wednesday. 

On Thursday Mrs. Tejal and Shweta shared with all the students the legacy of Gandhi. Wednesday would have been his 150th birthday!
