Hard to believe August is over....

Parents we have had an amazing first month back to school! The children are settling in to the work cycle. Students are taking on more responsibility and helping others in their community.

Next week, we will be having a short week due to Labor Day. We will continue to give the students practice on telling time and counting coins. These are great activities that you can practice with your children.

Next week, first graders will continue practicing jobs with nouns. Second graders, will work on irregular verb tenses. Third graders, will work on types of adverbs. We will continue practicing writing narratives stories. We are currently working with the elements of characters and setting.

Please be sure that your child is reading every night. It is extremely important for your child to read on their grade level to improve their fluency and comprehension. If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher.

First Week Back

Dear Families,
We all had an amazing first week back. We worked on establishing procedures and team building activities. We look forward to this coming week when we will begin giving presentations to the children. We will be telling the "Story of the Universe" which is an original story that Dr. Montessori wrote herself. Afterwards, the children will observe and conduct science experiments related to the "laws of the universe."

In language, we will be giving 1st years an introduction to nouns while the returning students will be reviewing articles, adjectives, nouns, and verbs. Please be sure you have been able to login into Montessori Compass to view your child's weekly report.
