Week in Review : March 5th - 9th

Students had another wonderful week full of learning in Lower Elementary!

For language jobs, first grade students were introduced to prepositions, reviewed commas, identified syllables, and wrote pairs of homonyms. Second graders symbolized sentences with pronouns, reviewed commas, broke words down into syllables, and wrote pairs of homonyms. Third grade students analyzed sentences, reviewed commas, broke words down into syllables, and wrote pairs of homonyms.

For math jobs, all students reviewed rounding, identified the missing variable in equations, and reviewed previously learned concepts involving fractions. First graders solved problems using addition, subtraction, and multiplication while second and third graders solved large problems using all four operations.

For cultural jobs, students took a trip around campus to look for birds as part of their vertebrate study. Students wrote down the name, description, and activity of a bird they saw and drew a picture in their Bird Field Guide. Students continued their research of a famous African-American in history and continued a study of biomes in geography.

We look forward to the week ahead!
