What a great week back we have had. The children have been eagerly working and completing many jobs each day. In cultural, the children have been learning about "Peacemakers." This week the students learned more about Nelson Mandela. In science, we have kicked off a unit on nutrition as well as learning about renewable commodities by regions.
All students, had more practice on dictionary skills, comparing numbers, linear measurement, and equivalent fractions. All students we are introduced to translation (slide), rotation (turn), and reflection (flip) in geometry. First graders, symbolized sentences with prepositions, while second graders symbolized sentences with pronouns and third graders learned about adverbial phrases within a sentence.
In creative writing, we continue to learn about forms of poetry. This week, students learned about writing acrostic poems.
