Week in Review : February 22nd - 26th

We had another wonderful week in Lower Elementary! Students worked very hard to complete their quarterly reviews (which covered material presented in Language Arts and Math this quarter). It was wonderful to see how much the students have learned this quarter! Students also worked with sight words, practiced telling time and calculating elapsed time, counting money, and solving word problems.

For cultural jobs this week, students worked on their "Mind Maps" of South Africa and Germany. "Mind Maps" are a way to express main ideas and details of a central theme or image through the use of pictures and words. Students worked in groups to create a "Mind Map" of the country they studied in preparation for the International Festival. On Friday, students presented their "Mind Maps" to the entire Lower Elementary! It was wonderful to see what they learned!

Next week, students will review concepts such as editing, solving word problems, identifying parts of speech, working with all math operations, and measuring the length of objects in standard and metric units. It will be a great week!
