We had a wonderful week in Lower Elementary! Students enjoyed working on cultural jobs which included research on the Native Americans of the Plains and North American grasslands biome.

For language jobs, first graders were introduced to suffixes, wrote sentences with prepositions, and placed commas within a sentence to separate a list of nouns. Second graders reviewed possessive nouns, identified the different types of pronouns, and place commas within a sentence to separate a list of nouns. Third graders identified direct objects within a sentence and identified plural and plural possessive nouns.

For math jobs, first graders completed addition, multiplication, and subtraction problems, explored liquid measurement conversions, counted by 3's and 4's, practiced subtraction facts, and completed column addition problems. Second graders completed problems with all operations, completed liquid measurement conversions, solved word problems involving fractions, practiced division facts, and solved place value word problems. Third graders completed problems with all operations, completed liquid measurement conversions, converted decimals to fractions, solved IN/OUT function tables, and solved place value word problems.
