Week in Review - The International Festival

Students had an amazing week preparing for the International Festival. Classroom 1 and 2 studied Spain and presented "If you're happy and you know it" in Spanish and a flamenco style dance. Classroom 2 studied Australia and presented the Heel-Toe dance. Thank you to all the parents who helped make the day a success! Here are a few pictures!

The Week Ahead : February 5th - 9th

We look forward to a great week for Lower Elementary students. On Tuesday, students will hear from several professionals in the STEM field as they share their experiences during JMBA's STEM Career Day. On Thursday, students will kick off the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser with a special presentation. It will be a wonderful week!

For language arts jobs,  students will review grammar symbols, change singular nouns into plural nouns, put words in ABC order, and identify homographs (words which are spelled the same, but sound different and with different meanings). In writing, students will write a friendly letter in their best handwriting.

For math jobs, students will solve problems with all math operations, add and subtract fractions, identify types of lines, and review place value concepts such as writing numbers in expanded form.

For cultural jobs, students will continue their study of Spain (Classroom 1 and 2) or Australia (Classroom 3). Students will complete a country study by identifying various holidays, customs, and foods of their chosen country. Students will also identify animals which inhabit their chosen country. Both classes are busy at work preparing for the International Festival on February 24th.
